In a phone call tonight my dad shared the Greenberg story, which was on one of his first days at ESPN Greeny and Holtz were trucking somewhere and MG mentioned his wife was expecting. Lou stopped dead, pointed his finger in his face and said "the most important thing you can do for a child is show, every day, how much you love their mother".
It's some damn good advice. I assume he has a bunch of these nuggets. I'm pretty sure he didn't live up to them in many ways. But, who can?
