I like to think he was a good man with the politics
of a mean, small-minded person. That’s hard to square for most of us - usually they go pretty closely hand-in-hand, but I suppose we can allow that somebody can be both things… decent as a social human being and less so as to political inclinations and support? Schroedinger’s Lou. Who knows?
