I have an enormous amount of love and appreciation for Holtz

Holtz provided a great example of how to be part of an organization. He understood that people not only need somebody to love, but they also want to be loved. He also left an indelible mark on so many people he coached and with whom he worked or interacted.

I had connected with him a few times in the 2010s through his assistant, Angie. When Beth was sick in 2018, I reached out and Lou responded. One of the things he said was this: "we do have a strong faith in God and we also realize that he’s never left anybody down here yet."

I love that statement, and I'm happy that he had such confidence and faith as he approached the end.
