It really hit home for me as I lost one of my ND roommates to illness 3 days before my dad died in 2022. For about ten to fifteen years in the 90's and early 2000's we barely had contact, simply because both of us just busy in our careers and our families. Fortunately we reconnected fairly regularly beginning in about 2005. I would have been disconsolate when he passed if we hadn't; instead I was able to treasure the times we did have. I still think about him all the time.
