I believe Meyer is being genuine with the "dream job" stuff
I think he realizes that being a legend at Florida isn't close to being one at ND, and that he wants to be the guy to do for ND what Holtz did 20 years ago (if Weis doesn't beat him to it, of course). As always when it comes to big-time coaching, the timing will be key. Meyer has said that the Florida job makes sense until his youngest kid is in college, and that's still many years off. But if Weis can't get it done this season and the job comes open, will he be able to wait, not knowing how long it will be until it's available again? It could be the perfect time to leave Florida, with Tebow leaving and possibly with three titles in four years. And he would be walking into an ND job far, far more attractive than in 2004.
It will be interesting to follow. Then again, I'm a polly, so I believe that Weis will succeed.
