Sampson reports Texas may back out of series

Sarkisian was asked about the series and was noncommittal, and questioned whether the juice was worth the squeeze, given what happened to Texas last year. As much as I dislike the expansion of the playoff, we may need it to ensure these cowards play us.

I wish the CFP would explicitly include quantitative metrics

I didn't like the old BCS average of computer rankings, but allowing the committee consider SP+, Sagarin, and/or FPI would be a big step forward. Even an RPI like number which gives a point per win of the teams you beat and subtracts a point for each lose of a team you lose to would be a big step up.
The way it is set up now, it encourages teams to play as easy a schedule as possible.

Makes sense for Texas

If you're playing 9 conference games, and the conference basically has 4 playoff auto-qualifiers, where is the incentive to schedule up?
Agree.

Our incentives differ from the incentives of Texas for making the playoffs. We can frame it in terms of values, but it's the incentives.
Sark is a dickless coward.

Sure, OSU hurt them.
They could also not have lost to 4-8 Florida, or looked like a zombie team against UK, etc. I'd be embarrassed to have my coach talking like this.
the ADs are even worse

Coaches are always looking for the path of least resistance but the stewards shouldn’t allow their whiny crybabies to water down the entire program. Where is the institutional fortitude, the valor, the quest for glory? Is it completely absent from the enterprise?
That pussy is still whining about last season.

He's almost as big a yellowbelly as Little Lord Lincoln. How can players have respect for a coach who is constantly crying about shit that happened 6, 9, 12 months ago? I would be ashamed as a fan, and I can scarcely imagine how he or some of these other jokers would have reacted to ND's predicament of being in the CFP field for the duration until being unceremoniously booted at the end. Freeman doesn't get enough credit for manning up in response to that travesty. Particularly in our pathetic, accountability-deficient society today.

The other cries about losing a big game.
He should be pissed his team lost to a 4-8 grease fire.
