FU: Gijón 2 possibility tonight?
The last game with third place implications has just started. A winner in the Algeria-Austria game would advance, with the loser going home, but if Austria and Algeria draw then both will advance at the expense of Iran.
I'll be curious to see how this plays out -- Gijónesque, or an otherwise-normal match. I would think that Algeria, as the victim of the Disgrace of Gijón, would look to win as a point of national pride (particularly seeing that their opponent is one of the perpetrators from the original incident).
For those uninitiated, PAK has you covered from 12 years ago to the day: https://bluegraysky.com/forum/index.php?id=229769
