I tried to get my dad to watch the excellent film, Snatch. First I had to persuade him it wasn't porn. Then I realized all the effort would be fruitless because of the need for subtitles, which he would refuse. My fault for not thinking it through.

He’s worked closely with the union on many issues. He represented Tom Brady and rightfully pointed out the NFL’s sham disciplinary process where Goodell essentially rules on appeals of his own decisions.

Perhaps Kessler is trying to advance some point on behalf of the union.

Edit - this came off as didactic. You probably already know who Kessler is! Anyway, will be interesting to see what happens in this battle of horrible, no good opponents.

But I had the same thought as you - why would they give a rip about him?

On the other hand, seeing two distasteful individuals/entities (Sorsby v. NFL) go against each other in court would be entertaining. It will come to nothing because the NFL is terrified of discovery and I'm not sure Sorsby would even have standing to bring anything against the League.

I've known both of my law partners for 30+ years and we've managed to remain pretty much best friends through 25 and 15 years of being partners. Early on one of them told the story of his high school girlfriend who came from a very conservative Christian family (this was the mid-80s). Her dad was a prototypical southern smug, self-righteous pontificating twat (I am southern, so I can say these things). My friend tells of one day when he went to his girlfriend's to pick her up for something. It was the day after Len Bias had died. My friend is a big sports fan, and so naturally as he's talking to the dad, he asks, 'did you hear about Len Bias?'

The dad responds "I sure did. Well, that's what you get for doing snatch!"

That line, which I laugh at every time the story is recounted, has become the go-to response to any public comeuppance. It was the first thing I thought when I learned about Brendan Sorsby's NFL troubles.

application. Thgus the only way he can enter the league now is via the 2027 draft.

basically he's going to lose a year of football b/c of the fallout.

FWIW, until he's drafted by an NFL team Sorsby is NOT a NFLPA member so the players union can't even help Sorsby.
