Kudos to them. Even allowing for the fact that they probably admit some athletes who wouldn't get in otherwise, their admissions standards have to cut down the pool -- even accounting for the fact that it's a sport where strong academic schools do well.

I still remember the Princeton team that knocked off defending national champ UCLA by running back door cut after back door cut. They had one Black starter whom they interviewed after the game. His name was Sydney. By the end of the interview it was clear that Sydney probably had a 1560 on the SAT and was his high school valedictorian.

I'd rather lose to Princeton than Michigan, OSU, or USC.
