And everybody hates that our brand has enough juice to
overcome our more rigorous academics, in-person classes, at least some degree of real dorm living, and crappy South Bend weather.
Obviously, Freeman brings a bunch of that juice himself. But he's also undoubtedly been instrumental in getting the University to squeeze much of the rest of the juice for NIL participation, facilities, transfers, etc.
You should post this every few months.
Every time I read it I want to run through a wall.
Yep.
I used to like him, thought he was a decent guy who made good on his opportunity. I rooted for Clemson to beat Bama back in the day. But I can't shake the feeling he is a big phony now.
For half a century, ND was at a disadvantage because it required players to attend class and with rare exceptions, didn't pay players under the table. Now that the playing field is tilted in our favor because we have more $$$, the southern boys are crying foul.
bub, hehe
Well it comes in real handy around here, bub.
I'll say it again, you allowed
an incredible university, whose degree means everything, that has incredible financial resources, and has a history of a great football program, when they finally have an incredible head coach, and finally has their shit together with facilities and training and everything else, the ability to pay athletes the same as the southern colleges have been doing for fifty years.
How's that for a run on sentence, you English majors.
The revenge tour starts in a few months. Kill 'em all. Let God sort 'em out.
Wasn't he one of the guys
That claimed the day we paid the players, he would quit? How's that working, guy?
He should keep our name outta his fuckin mouth.
We are a mile away from being his biggest problem at the moment. Leave us alone and go fix your own shit, bub. We just got royally fucked on a playoff bid bc your disaster of a conference couldn't produce basic, logical goddamn tiebreakers and decided to make us the ire of their own incompetence.
He makes $10 million a year.
But laments the fact that kids are getting their fair share. Nobody likes a hypocrite.
Apparently they'll need to pay more than 10 a year.
Inflation is a son of a bitch.
Thanks!
I wonder if Dabo will be around for game one.

I don’t get the Dabo distaste
He’s a very good to great coach. To me, he comes across as authentic. He’s not “crapping” on ND; he’s using hyperbole to make his complaints known about the current state of college football, which we have all done at one time or another, especially recently. He is doing this repeatedly and maybe it’s a little whiny. But I think college football is better off with people like Dabo, as opposed to a number of other examples that could be offered. He is generally complimentary about ND and its football program.
Kinda hard to do
When you've been screaming for years about how distasteful the money etc. is and how you can win preaching faith and family till the cows come home.
All admins use media in their own ways for leverage
Jack was notorious for leaking things that had an extremely low probablity of happening (See: ND seriously considering a move to Nike) in order to gain leverage that would ultimately get movement on a couple items that got a deal done. Dabo is doing something similar here in my opinion.
Exactly, it's the "Saban complaining about A&M" routine

2027 season
from there, every year until 2038, two years beyond the end of the ACC GoR.

At night, the ice weasels come.
He is signaling to admins and boosters
I truly think this is more of a call to those investors around the program that they need more money. Yes ND can use this to their advantage but he really is looking at this as a way to get those around the program to invest more $$$.
When does that series restart
I kinda think there are folks who will paste that 4-2/print their own money bullshit on a locker until it's 5-4 good guys.

Dabo has used a three-pronged approach to success
Venables, Watson, and Lawrence.

Again, had 9 players drafted two weeks ago.
2 first rounders, 3 more on day 2, 4 more in rounds 4-5. And lost 6 games last season. Beaten by Georgia Tech, Syracuse, SMU and Duke. Please lay out for me which of those programs are currently dog-walking Clemson on the resource front. The problem isn't so much that he's losing to OSU or ND; it's that he can't even consistently deliver wins against all the mids in his own conference anymore. Swiney is leading an ACC heavyweight and acting like he's coaching Wake Fucking Forest. I'm all for a good 'circle the wagons' pitch, but this dude is just out there flopping on a Serie A level. It's unbecoming.
Btw, these ACC coaches all seem to be stricken sooner or later with Notre Dame Derangement Syndrome. I don't know if they think it scores points with their 'base', but I suspect it's not as much of a winning play as they imagine.
A number of ND personalities made good points
About Dabo's discussion of ND and its "money machine" - this was basically a recruiting tool for ND and Freeman should use it in his presentations to recruits and portal targets. Come experience the Money Machine in action!
That's pretty rich.
He's crying poor after Clemson led the arms race for years with outlandish facilities and support staff. His refusal to adjust in the face of a totally different landscape is bizarre. I hope they lose every game.
Dabo is a whiny b*tch --
