Quick recruiting post

The next week or so should be very interesting for ND.

Tomorrow (Thursday) 2027 TE Jaxon Dollar is committing on CBS. Although ND has been heavily involved here for a long time, it appears that he's trending towards UGA. He is saying that he intends to take official visits, so this might not be over yet.

2027 QB Wonderful Monds is appearing on McAfee's show on Friday around 1PM Eastern for his commitment.

Around the same time, 2027 4-star DE Aidan O'Neil will be committing on CBS.

Both Monds and O'Neil seem like they'll pick ND.

2027 4-star DT David Folorunsho (from Chicago area and coached by Zibby) just announced that he's committing on May 15. This is fresh off visits to ND on consecutive weekends. Seems like ND has stemmed the Texas Tech push here and should get this done.

Those would be 3 pretty large pickups.

Few other quick notes -

- ND just threw out their first offers for 2028 QBs, including Niemann Lawrence (American Heritage in FL) and Kingston Preyear (from Alabama). Lawrence has been to ND a few times and seems like the leader in the clubhouse.

- 4/5-star DE Jackson Vaughn (Bergen Catholic) announced he is re-classifying from 2028 to 2027 and ND is probably in the driver's seat here.

O'Neil just committed.

Here's some Jr year tape.

Maybe it's all just one big coincidence

but it seems like the ND staff is finally starting to flex a bit, at DL in particular, after having spent the past 12+ months slowly cultivating a deep and talented collection of options to fill out its 2027 recruiting class.

I'll add to the information you provided one other nugget: Brayden Parks, top-200 Chicago DL prospect with a number of ND connections, stated in an interview yesterday that he'll most likely commit in the next several weeks. Parks has long favored ND but also entertained many other schools throughout the process, getting chummy with Oregon in particular. The expectation was that this battle would roll into June, with Parks taking OVs to both of those programs as well as OSU, but now he suggests that he'll commit before then and only visit his chosen school. Is it possible that ND may have continued courting other recruits who have visited campus over the past month and also expressed a strong interest in coming to ND and taking Parks' seat on the bus? Maybe even someone like, I dunno, Xavier Muhammad, a DL from Houston who was only recently offered but is even more highly-rated (by the services, anyway) than Parks?

We saw this at running back a month ago where ND went from "OMG we don't have any RBs" to "OMG we are full at RB" in the blink of an eye. It won't be quite the same at DL given more generous numbers, but it's likely that a wave is coming over the next several weeks and the staff suddenly finds itself in the enviable position of only taking on additional prospects who are too goddamn good for practically any school to turn away.

There is a scenario

where we beat Oregon head to head for Parks, Julius Jones Jr., Jackson Coleman and even Marcus Fakatou. The Ducks could be the second choice for all four of them (though OSU has emerged more in the Fakatou sweepstakes).

We’re gonna need a bigger boat.
