An upgrade in TE blocking could be a really big deal

If good defenses can reliably defend our run game with 6 or 7 in the box (6 or 7 guys for 6 or 7 gaps depending on if you have an attached TE) Carr is going to have to execute at a very, very high level to beat them. Alternately, if we are able to consistently get movement at the end of the line of scrimmage. That becomes a ton of surface area for the defensive backfield to potentially fit against and we will be able to generate a ton of easily read run/pass conflict.

One of those weird paradoxes: a running QB benefits most from a receiving threat at TE (which creates much more physical space in which to work) while a throwing QB actually benefits more from a great blocker at TE as it gets him a much cleaner picture.
