Agree with you
If Burton's tag is going to limit other options (ie, portal or high school recruiting), then I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze.
I understood bringing him back for 2025-2026, but it seems pretty clear, for a number of reasons, that he might not be the guy to build a team around.
