Potential teams available to fill the 2010 remaining slots
Here's what I extracted from nationalchamps.net.
It factors in Big East teams with available 5th slot(7 league games), Pac-10 available 3rd slot(9 league games), teams that are already on the schedule & the WAC which lists it's non league games with some of it's league games and is hard to decipher so I listed most of them.
I didn't remove teams that don't have the proper open dates (actually I didn't look at that yet) and this would probably reduce the list greatly but here's what I have so far. Update: Tubes over at NDN gave me 5 teams who play on the weeks we have open games, October 30th, November 6th & 20th.
Keeping the 30th open would give us a break after playing 8 straight.
The 20th would give us two weeks to prepare for USC.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Air Force, BYU, Duke, Georgia Tech, Hawaii, or even Washington State fill those last two spots.
Without getting into an other "my ideal schedule" post, we'd better start re-evaluating a lot of our "traditionally" home-and-home series (Purdue, MSU, Pitt, Stanford, etc.), or this 7-4-1 is not going to have a chance. We can sign home-and-home deals with Southern Cal and Michigan, but nearly everyone else had better be in 2-1 deals or the match simply won't work.
