Some Numbers in Regards to our Last Four Recruiting Classes

From 2002 thru 2005 there were 12 teams that finished ranked the in the Rivals Top 25 every year:

Texas
Tennessee
Georgia
Florida St
Auburn
Oklahoma
Miami
Southern Cal
LSU
Michigan
Florida
Texas A&M

Now, of that group a total of 10 managed to pull in at least 1 Top Five class and at least two Top Ten classes during that time. I've included some of their notable achievements from 2005 thru 2008:

USC (4 Top Five finishes)
Texas (2005 National Champion, 3 Top Ten, 4 Top 25)
Florida (2 National Championships, 4 Top 25 finishes)
LSU (2007 Nationaal Champion, 3 Top 5 finishes)
Oklahoma (2008 BSC Championship Game, 2 Top Ten finishes, 4 Top 25)
Georgia (three Top Ten finishes, 1 Top Five finish)
Michigan (one Top Ten finish, 2 Top 25)
Tennessee (two Top 25 finishes)
Florida St (one Top 25 finish)
Miami (one Top 25 finish)

Every team that finished with a Number 1 class (Texas, USC twice, LSU) played in the BCS Championship Game. Two of the three won.

4 out of the 6 teams that finished with at least one class ranked in the Top Two (Texas, USC, LSU, and Florida) played in the Big Game and three of them accounted for all four championships. The two that didn't make it were Tennessee and FSU.

As a side note, Ohio State - which had 3 Top 5 and 4 Top Ten finishes, had a Top Five class, two Top Ten classes and 3 Top 25 classes.

Now, looking at the rankings from 2006 thru 2009, there are 9 teams who had at least one Top Five, 2 Top Ten, and 4 Top 25 classes:

Ohio St: 10-14-4-3
