Weis helps St. Joe's White land football scholarship at Indiana State

For the 2nd year in a row, Charlie Weis has helped a St. Joe running back land a football scholarship to a school other than Notre Dame.

Last year, it was Jordan Taylor to Marshall.

This year, it is Dustin White to Indiana State.

White told Newscenter 16 Wednesday afternoon before St. Joe's baseball game vs. Penn, that Weis was a major factor in the process.

The connection between Weis and St. Joe comes from Charlie Jr. being a student coach for the Indians.

White says he's very excited to be headed to Indiana State to play football. A very good baseball player, White always envisioned his sport in college being on the diamond and not on the gridiron.

But he says he's not complaining.

White was a member of the 2007 St. Joe team that reached the state championship game in Indy.
