Bit on Brey from book about UGA

The book is "Behind the Hedges: Big Money and Power Politics at the University of Georgia" about the feud between Adams and the UGA Foundation over Vince Dooley and foundation funds.
From the USA Today article:
"Dooley said Adams wrote a letter to a high school basketball recruit taking credit for the hiring of Georgia basketball coach Jim Harrick and calling Harrick a 'long-time friend.' Dooley wanted to hire Mike Brey, the current Notre Dame coach, who was at Delaware. Brey cooled to the job. Later, Dooley said Brey told him he was so put-off by Adams during an interview that he could not work for Georgia."

This tidbit was rather terrifying
"Adams is the chairman of the executive committee of the NCAA and is on the Knight Commission for Intercollegiate Athletics, a presidential-level organization that pushes academic integrity in athletics."
Insert fox-henhouse metaphor. I guess I should stop holding my breath for the NCAA to do anything about Reggie Bush and Southern Cal.
