Some people can conclude from 30 plays, in a spring scrimmage, with many key players missing, and video from an end zone angle, that all is lost, apparently.

The problem in the scrimmage is that our team was not a threat to pass; neither Goodman, Walker, or Parris could break free from Walls, Blanton, and McNeil, so Tenuta had no fear blitzing nearly everyone on every play. If it gets to a point in the season where our top 3 WRs are out, I might be concerned. For now, I'm not going to make any judgments on where this team is headed based on that scrimmage.
It was nice seeing the D get fired up, but that's about it. They sure can fly to the ball, but again, it helps that they had no fear of the passing game. They were firing the gaps after the RB from the moment the ball was snapped each time.
too funny

I submitted an article to Irish Eyes today that was very similar to this post. Without #23, #3, & #9, those DB's were jumping all the short stuff.
I don't mean that as an insult to Goodman, either. But without the speed on the outside, and the lack of a "this is a Saturday in the fall" worry, the DB's were all up.
